I have been studying various aspects of marine mammal science since graduating from my undergraduate degree in zoology at Durham University. I have worked with many institutions and am currently based at the University of St Andrews with the Sea Mammal Research Unit (SMRU), conducting post doctoral research after completing my PhD in 2014.

I am a keen amature wildlife photographer after learning how to use an SLR camera for many photo ID projects on whales and seals. All the photographs on this website are my own and may not be used or reproduced without my prior permission. If you would like to see more of my photography work, please visit my other website which is purely about wildlife photography: kjrwildlifephotography.com
